Test trainings open for January 2026!
Langes Schwert München is a fencing club. We practise historical European martial arts (HEMA) with a focus on the longsword in the German tradition and train both beginners and advanced students. Our courses are based on authentic techniques from German fencing masters of the 14th to 16th centuries, which we continuously test and refine under modern tournament conditions.

What is longsword fencing?
A modern martial art based on a historical martial art using longsword simulators, also known as "Feders". We have some idea how people trained and a pretty good idea of the techniques they used due to the survival of many fencing manuals, particularly in the German tradition between the 14th and 16th centuries. These can be found in the Staatsbibliothek in Munich. The most beautiful extant longsword is also housed in Munich at the Bavarian National Museum, "the Munich longsword", from where our club gets its name.
